SGB ​​Price: The government is going to give an opportunity to buy cheap gold again. The government will release a tranche of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) this month. After this, the second installment will be released in February. In the statement issued by the Finance Ministry, it was said that 2023-24 Series-3 will open on 18-22 December this month. The date for Series-4 is fixed for 12-16 February. Earlier, Series-I was opened between 19-23 June and Series-II was opened between 11-15 September.

The bonds will be sold through banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, post offices and recognized stock exchanges BSE and NSE. The sale of gold bonds was first launched in November 2015 as a part of reducing demand for traditional gold and increasing household savings. The maturity period of the gold bond will be eight years but there will be an option to redeem it after completion of five years.

Option to invest in one gram of gold:

Under the scheme, you can invest in at least one gram of gold. Apart from this, you can invest in maximum four kg gold. Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) is priced in Indian Rupees based on the average of the closing prices of gold of 999 purity published by the India Bullion and Jewelers Association Limited (IBJA) for the last three working days of the week preceding the membership period. .

In the information given by the ministry, it was said that for investors taking online membership and making payment through digital mode, the issue price of SGB will be reduced by Rs 50 per gram. The Reserve Bank issues bonds on behalf of the Government of India.
