Actually, lakhs of central employees have not been able to claim Children Education Allowance (CEA) yet due to Covid-19. Now they will not need any official document for this. Let us tell you that according to the 7th Pay Commission, central employees get an education allowance of Rs 2,250 on the education of children.
Center exempts self-certified allowance claim:
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, a large number of government employees could not claim education allowance. The central government has self-certified this allowance claim. With this decision, 25 lakh central government employees will get a big relief. The Department of Personnel (DoPT) has given relief to the central employees by issuing an office memorandum in this regard. It has been said in the Office Memorandum that after looking into the matter, self-certification has been allowed, giving relief in para 2 (b). This academic session will be valid from March 2020 to March 2021.
How to claim education allowance
Education allowance can be claimed through self-certified and prescribed methods from the concerned employees, besides printout of result, report card, e-mail of fee payment, SMS. Central government employees get allowance on education of 2 children and this allowance is Rs 2,250 per child. If you understand in simple words, employees will get Rs 4,500 in salary every month on two children. If the employees have not yet claimed the academic session from March 2020 to March 2021, then they can claim now. On this, he will get Rs 4,500 in salary every month.
