The Narendra Modi government is preparing to give a big gift to the tax paying middle class. In this regard, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given an important statement.
In a program, the Finance Minister said that taxpayers are nation builders and the government will bring a Charter of Rights for them.
Nirmala Sitharaman told that there are few countries in the world where there is a Charter of Rights for taxpayers. These include Australia, Britain and America.
Nirmala Sitharaman said that in this Charter of Rights, the obligations and rights of taxpayers will be mentioned. We are making these efforts keeping in mind the interests of taxpayers.
Let us tell you that the taxpayers charter was announced in the budget. It is expected to get statutory status and it will ensure service to the citizens in a time bound manner by the Income Tax Department.

Taxpayers may also get some new rights in this. However, Nirmala Sitharaman did not elaborate about this Charter of Rights.
Nirmala Sitharaman said that we are continuously making the tax process easier and easier for taxpayers.
To meet this goal, the government has taken other measures including assessment, reduction in investigation and pre-filled tax forms without facing the officers.
