AIS Mobile App: Through this app, it will be easy for the taxpayer to view and check the information already available about him with the Income Tax Department.
New Delhi. There is good news for taxpayers. Income Tax Department has launched a mobile app for the convenience of taxpayers. Users can download this app named AIS for Taxpayers from Google Play Store and App Store. With the help of this app, the taxpayer can easily know the details of all the financial transactions done by the taxpayers during a financial year.
With the help of the app, taxpayers can find out whether the department has added any wrong information by looking at the Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Taxpayer Information Summary (Taxpayer Information Summary).
Not only this, through this mobile app, taxpayers will be able to get information related to TDS as well as interest, dividend, share transaction GST data and foreign remittance. Taxpayers will also get the facility to give their feedback on whatever information will be displayed in the app.
The availability of Annual Information Statement (AIS) on the mobile app will greatly benefit the taxpayer. Launching this app, the Income Tax Department said, “Taxpayers will get comprehensive information about tax deduction at source / tax collection at source (TDS / TCS), interest, dividend and share deals from this app. Along with this, they will also get the option to give their opinion on it.
What is AIS?
AIS is a tool or means that tells taxpayers about the information that is already with the Income Tax Department. All the financial transactions done by the income tax payer in a financial year are detailed in AIS. Apart from these, it also contains all the necessary information under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
How to use the app?
To access AIS for Taxpayers, taxpayers have to register on the app. PAN number has to be used for registration. Taxpayers will have to verify their identity through the OTP that will come on the registered mobile number and email ID on the e-filing portal. Taxpayers can also set a 4 digit pin number for the app.
