New Delhi. The central government has made preparations to give a big gift to the government employees before Diwali (Diwali 2021). In this sequence, the Modi government in the cabinet meeting last week decided to increase the Dearness Allowance by 3 percent. Central Employees (Govt Employees) will get House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Education Allowance along with this additional 3% Dearness Allowance (DA) in the salary of October 2021. In other words, the central employees will get the salary hike for October 2021.
Dearness Allowance has become 31 percent
The government has also increased the Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners by 3 percent along with DA. This increase in DA and DR will be considered effective from July 1, 2021. Now the dearness allowance and dearness relief of central employees has increased from 28 percent to 31 percent. This will directly benefit 47.14 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners.
How much will the DA increase?
If your basic salary is Rs 18,000, then you are currently getting Rs 5,030 DA at the rate of 28 per cent. Now it has increased by 3 percent. Now you will get DA of Rs 5,580 at the rate of 31 per cent. In other words, if the basic salary of the employees is Rs 18000, there will be an increase of Rs 540 in DA. The higher your basic salary, the higher will be the DA.
Education allowance will also be
According to the 7th Pay Commission, central employees get education allowance of Rs 2,250 on the education of children. Last year the employees were not able to claim for it due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The Central Government has made the Children Education Allowance (CEA) claim self-certified. Central employees get an allowance of Rs 2,250 per child for the education of 2 children. If the employees have not claimed for the academic session from March 2020 to March 2021 till NAM, then they can now. With this, they will get Rs 4,500 in salary every month on having two children.
HRA will also come in the salary,
The government has increased the HRA by 3 percent to 25 percent of the basic salary. While issuing the order, the central government said that the house rent allowance and DA should be increased on the basis of the basic salary of government employees. Explain that according to the rules, HRA has been increased because DA has exceeded 25 percent. For this reason, the central government has also decided to increase the HRA to 27 percent.
