Your PAN card will be considered invalid under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act. Also you will not be able to file your ITR. Apart from this, your tax refund can also be stopped. This is the process of linking PAN with Aadhaar
Step 1. To link PAN Card with Aadhar Card, one has to first go to the Income Tax e-filing website.
Step 2. Now on the left side of the home page, you will get the option of Link Aadhar, click on it.
Step 3. Now the option to fill the details will open in front of you, fill all your details in it.
Step 4. In these options, there will be an option to fill PAN number, Aadhaar number, fill it also.
Step 5. After filling all the details enter the captcha code.
Step 6. Now click on Link Aadhar.
Step 7. By doing this your PAN card will be linked with Aadhar card. You will see its information on the screen.
This is offline process
In this you have to SMS. To link your PAN card with Aadhaar through SMS, you have to type UIDPAN <Aadhar Number> <Pan Number> from your registered number and SMS it to 567678 or 561561. After doing this, you will get the information about the linking of PAN with Aadhaar through a message in a while.
