But, along with this, there are some such accounts where there is no requirement of maintaining a minimum balance. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY-Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna) is also one of such accounts.

Know how to get 10 thousand rupees
under Jan Dhan Yojana, even if there is no balance in your account, you will get the facility of overdraft up to Rs 10,000. This facility is like a short term loan. Earlier this amount used to be 5 thousand rupees. The government has now increased it to 10 thousand.
Here is the rule
The maximum age limit for overdraft facility in this account is 65 years. To avail the overdraft facility, your Jan Dhan account should be at least 6 months old. If not, then only overdraft of up to Rs 2,000 is available.
What is Jan Dhan Account?
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is the most ambitious financial program that ensures access to banking/savings and deposit accounts, remittances, loans, insurance, pension. This account can be opened at any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank Mitra) outlet. PMJDY accounts are being opened with zero balance.
How to open account?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the account is opened more in public sector banks. But, if you want, you can also open your Jan Dhan account in a private bank. If you have any other savings account then you can convert it to Jan Dhan account also. Any citizen residing in India, whose age is 10 years or more, can open a Jan Dhan account.
