In fact, the bank is offering the facility of overdraft limit up to Rs 3 lakh for the salary account holders. This amount is fixed according to the salary credited to the account. That is to say, the lesser your salary is, the less you will get the amount under overdraft.
What is Overdraft Facility: In simple language, it is a type of loan. Under this facility, you can withdraw money even if you do not have money in your bank account. The amount of overdraft is decided by the bank. It has to be paid along with interest within a stipulated period. To avail this facility, you can apply online or by visiting the branch of the bank.
PNB facility on salary account: Punjab National Bank has divided its salary account holders into four categories – Silver, Gold, Premium, Platinum. The silver category account holder gets an overdraft limit of Rs 50,000, gold account holder Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand, premium account holder Rs 2 lakh 25 thousand and platinum account holder gets an overdraft limit of up to Rs 3 lakh.
Category is fixed according to salary: Let us tell you that the category of PNB has been decided according to the salary. Those account holders have been kept in the silver category whose salary credit ranges from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000. In the Gold category, salary ranges from 25 to 75 thousand, account holders with salary ranging from 75 thousand to 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees in premium, Platinum account holders are customers with salary more than 1 lakh 50 thousand.
