New Delhi : Union Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar said that under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), the claim for unemployment benefits will be settled within 15 days of application.
It may be noted that the Board of Directors of ESIC has doubled the payment under unemployment benefit from 24 March to 31 December this year, providing relief to those who lost employment in the wake of Corona virus epidemic. Under the scheme, now 50 per cent of the average salary of three months will be given.

In this context, Gangwar stated that, ‘Claims under the ESI Scheme for unemployment benefits will be settled in 15 days. The scheme will provide relief to those associated with ESI who lost their jobs during the Kovid-19 epidemic. Under this scheme, during the period from 24 March 2020 to 31 December 2020, a benefit equal to 50 per cent of the average salary of three months would be given to the earlier 25 per cent. ‘
