Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana: A special scheme of the Modi government is the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana to facilitate pension after retirement to the low-income people of the unorganized sector. It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme. According to the Labor Ministry, more than 45 lakh people have joined this scheme so far. Any Indian in the age group of 18 to 40 years can take advantage of this scheme. In this, after the age of 60, the person will continue to get a pension of 3000 rupees for life. A special feature of this scheme is that Jan Dhan account holders can also be entitled to pension under this scheme.
PM Shram Yogi Maandhan: Who will get the benefit of the scheme
Pradhan Mantri Shramyogi Maandhan Yojana is for the workers of the unorganized sector, from which daily wage laborers to maids, drivers, electricians and sweepers or all such workers will get the benefit. Their monthly income should not exceed Rs 15,000. Under this scheme, after the age of 60, a pension of Rs 3000 i.e. Rs 36,000 per annum will be available every month. Those who are members of EPFO, NPS or ESIC, they cannot take advantage of this scheme. For this, even if someone pays income tax, he is not eligible for this scheme.
PM Shram Yogi Maandhan: How much will have to be invested
According to the scheme, if a person is 18 years old, then he will have to deposit 55 rupees every month till the age of 60 years in the Pradhan Mantri Shramyogi Maandhan Yojana. If someone is 29 years old, then he will have to deposit 100 rupees every month till the age of 60 years to get pension in the scheme. If an employee joins this scheme at the age of 40, then he will have to make a contribution of Rs 200 every month. One special thing in this is that the more the contribution is of the account holder, the government will also make the same contribution on its behalf. This scheme is applicable from the financial year 2018-19 itself and till now more than 45 lakh people have joined it.
PM Shram Yogi Maandhan: Only this document is needed
For PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana only two documents are required Aadhar Card and Savings Account/Jan Dhan Account (with IFSC Code). That is, even if you have a Jan Dhan account, you can join the scheme. For this you will not need to open a separate savings account. Apart from this, you will also have to enter your mobile number.
PM Shram Yogi Maandhan: How to register
- For registration in the Pradhan Mantri Shramyogi Maandhan Pension Scheme, one has to visit the nearest CSC center.
- Whatever is there Aadhar card and Savings account or Jan Dhan account will have to be given along with IFSC code. Passbook, check book or bank statement can be shown as proof.
- Nominee can also be entered at the time of opening the account.
- Once your details are entered in the computer, the monthly contribution information will be automatically received.

PM Shram Yogi Maandhan: Know these rules also
If for some reason you are not able to contribute your share, then the outstanding amount has to be paid along with interest. After which his contribution will start regularly. If the subscriber wants to withdraw money from the scheme within 10 years from the date of joining, then only his contribution will be returned at the savings account interest rate.
