New Delhi: There is good news for senior citizens. Now senior citizens will never have a problem with money. The government is going to open such an employment exchange for senior citizens, in which senior citizens will be given fresh jobs according to them. This exchange will start from 1st October i.e. Friday.
Great opportunity for senior citizens!
Senior citizens can register themselves in this employment exchange and search for employment. Let us tell you that for the first time in the country such an employment exchange is being opened for senior citizens. A special portal is being started for this. The government has also started a helpline to help senior citizens.
Register immediately
There are many people whose age is above 60 years and they want to do a job. If you also fall in this category, then register yourself immediately by visiting the ‘Senior Able Citizens for Re-employment in Dignity’ (Sacred) portal, which is being opened under the leadership of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) from 1st. Here you will easily get a job according to your ability.
According to the report of Times of India, it will be an interactive platform on which stakeholders will meet each other virtually and will be able to talk to each other about employment. The ministry has also written a letter urging industry chambers like CII, Ficci and Assocham to help senior citizens get employment.
All the information will be available on the portal
On this portal, senior citizens have to give complete information about their education, experience, skills, interests etc. along with the application. However, the ministry has clarified that this exchange is not guaranteeing employment. It will be up to the companies and employers to hire a senior based on his/her qualifications and needs.
The number of senior citizens in the country is increasing significantly, who have now retired. But there are also many of these people who want to work. In such a situation, such an exchange can prove to be very effective. According to an estimate, the number of senior citizens has increased to 10.4 crore in the year 2011 as compared to 76 million in 2001. By the year 2050, the proportion of senior citizens in the country can increase to 20 percent.
Senior citizens note down the helpline number
The government has also started a nationwide toll free helpline 14567 for senior citizens called ‘Elder Line’. On this phone line, senior citizens can get pension, emotional support, legal issues, help against harassment, help in homelessness.
