New Delhi. There is good news for the employees of Bihar Government. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently announced an 11 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners. This increase in Dearness Allowance has been done under the Seventh Pay Commission. Now the news has come that the government can give two months dearness allowance to the employees in the next month i.e. October.
May get dearness allowance for July and August
According to media reports, this proposal has been approved in the cabinet meeting of the Bihar government. In this way, along with the salary in October, the state government employees can also get dearness allowance for the months of July and August. In such a situation, before the festivals, it can be a big relief for the employees of the state government.
Earlier, the Center had increased the DA,
before that on July 14, for 48 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners, the Union Cabinet had decided to remove the ban on dearness allowance i.e. DA. The government had withheld dearness allowance and dearness relief for one and a half years due to the corona virus epidemic. Now this increase will be applicable from July 1, 2021. DA has been increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. However, no decision has been taken on giving 18 months arrears to employees and pensioners.
When did the DA increase?
In January 2020, the DA of central employees was increased by four percent. After this, it had increased by three percent in the second half (June 2020). In January 2021, it had increased by four per cent. In this way DA was increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. However, the government had banned it since January last year due to Corona. Now the ban has been lifted.
