Google Layoffs: Big news! Google fired these employees after asking for better pay and benefits.

Google Layoffs- Employees hired by both Google and Cognizant on contract for YouTube Music had come together a few months ago and demanded better salaries, allowances and flexible rules for coming to office.

New Delhi. Demanding better salary and allowances from Google has proved costly for the YouTube Music team. Google has shown the way out to 43 contractor works. All of them were hired by Cognizant for Google. At the same time, on firing the employees, Google says that it has nothing to do with this matter and Cognizant has done all this.

In a video going viral on social media, YouTube data analyst Jake Benedict is urging America’s Austin City Council to take forward their union negotiations with Google. Benedict alleges that Google has immediately fired him and 43 other people from their jobs without giving any notice. He says that he is shocked by this decision of Google.

Punished for asking for better salary

Employees hired on contract by both Google and Cognizant for YouTube Music had come together a few months ago and demanded better salaries, allowances and flexible rules for coming to office. Even then Google had clearly refused any kind of conversation with the employees. Google said that they are not employees of the company. That’s why they can’t be talked to.

The NLRB (National Labor Relations Board) ruled Google’s refusal to negotiate with YouTube Music workers illegal. A new rule was also made which made it difficult for companies to reject the demands of employees provided by third parties.

Employees will become homeless

Many employees fired by Google say that the sudden job loss has created many problems for them. Some employees will not be able to pay the rent due to lack of money. This has created a danger of them becoming homeless. Employees say that Google has advised them to demand their rights.

What does Google have to say?

According to a report by The Verge, on this whole matter Google says that there is no such thing as firing employees. In an e-mail, the company wrote, “Our contracts with our suppliers across the country expire on regularly scheduled dates.” Cognizant has also said that the contract has ended ‘naturally’.
