In the wake of the corona virus epidemic, the government on Friday extended the validity of motor vehicle documents such as driving license (DL), certificate of registration (RC) and permit till 30 June 2021.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said in a consultation to states that it is increasing the validity of fitness, permits, driving licenses, registrations and other documents, which cannot be extended due to lockdown and whose validity is due on February 1, 2020. Is over or will end on 31 March 2020.
Earlier, the validity of documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules have been extended several times. The Ministry told the states that it is advised that the validity of expired documents from February 1 can be considered valid till June 30, 2021. It was said in the consultation that the concerned authorities are advised to consider such documents valid till 30 June 2021.
