PAN will be invalid
According to the Income Tax Department, if you do not link it, then your PAN will become invalid under Section-139AA of the Income Tax Act. - First of all go to Income Tax website.
- Enter the name, PAN number and Aadhaar number as given in the Aadhar card.
- If only the year of birth is given in the Aadhar card, then tick the category.
- Now enter the given captcha code.
- Now click on the link Aadhaar button.
- Your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.
PAN card will become useless if canceled
After the PAN card is cancelled, it can be revived. But keep in mind that if someone used a canceled PAN card during this period, then it will be considered as a violation of section 272B under the Income Tax Act. In such a situation, the PAN holder will have to pay a fine of Rs 10000 and not only this, if the canceled PAN card is used again, then the penalty can also be increased.
