e-shram Portal: The Modi government will launch e-shram portal for crores of workers working in the unorganized sector. Through this portal, a database of the workers of the country will be prepared at the national level. So that these laborers can be included in the scheme according to their capabilities. Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched the logo of e-shram portal yesterday.

You will get 12 digit unique number
The Union Ministry of Labor and Employment will issue a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) and e-Shram Card for about 38 crore laborers in the unorganized sector, which will be valid across the country. E-shram card will give a new identity to crores of unorganized workers of the country. This labor card will help them to get the benefit of social security schemes of the government in future. Construction workers, migrant laborers, street vendors can get themselves registered on this portal.
Benefits of these schemes will also be available
After this announcement of the government, now the workers of the unorganized sector will be able to get the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PMSYM), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY).
Ajay Tiwari, director general of labor welfare and joint secretary in the ministry, said that social security (pension, insurance) schemes including PMSYM, PMJJBY, PMSBY and PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat) will be added to the database. Informal sector workers will be able to register to take advantage of these schemes through this database platform.

Toll free number
Apart from construction workers, this includes migrant workers, street vendors and domestic workers. He said that after the launch of the portal, the workers of the unorganized sector can start their registration from the same day i.e. the portal will be done from today itself. From today itself, a national toll free number 14434 will also be started to help the workers for registration.
Free health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh
Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana), each family is given a free health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh annually.
Rs 3000 pension is available in PMSYM
Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojana is a better scheme for the workers of the unorganized sector. Under this, street vendors, rickshaw pullers, construction workers and people associated with the unorganized sector engaged in many other similar works will be helped to secure their old age. Under this scheme, a pension of Rs 3000 per month i.e. Rs 36000 per year will be available.
