Bonus To Railway Employees: Before Diwali, the Modi Government at the Center has also given a gift to more than 11.07 lakh non-gazetted Railway employees of Indian Railways. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has been decided to give 78 days productivity bonus to non-gadget railway employees. This decision of the government will benefit 11 lakh 7 thousand 340 (11,07,346) railway employees and this will cost the government exchequer Rs 1969 crore.
In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was given to give bonus equal to 78 days to railway employees for the financial year 2022-23. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government has decided to pay productivity linked bonus equal to 78 days’ salary to non-Gazette Railway employees. This bonus given to railway employees will provide them great relief in this period of inflation.
If the economy will benefit in this festive season due to the bonus given to 11,07,346 lakh railway employees, it will help in increasing the demand. Giving productivity linked bonus for 78 days will cost Rs 1969 crore.
With this decision of the government, track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technical helpers, pointsmen, ministerial staff, and other Group C stocks except RPF and RPSF Perceval will get the benefit of this bonus.
Due to the excellent performance of the railway staff, the government has decided to give a bonus of Rs 1968.86 crore to the railway employees. The performance of Railways in 2022-23 was excellent. Railways carried a record freight load of 1509 million tonnes while 6.5 billion railway passengers traveled. The government gives this bonus to railway employees as an incentive to perform better in future.
