GST Council Meeting: Preparations to bring new rule related to Aadhar card, meeting to be held on 22 June

GST Council Meeting 53rd meeting: Big decisions can be taken in the GST Council meeting to be held on June 22. Sources told CNBC Awaaz that a new rule related to Aadhaar card is going to come.

For the first time, a new rule related to Aadhaar card is coming in the 53rd meeting of the GST Council to be held on June 22. Sources say that Aadhaar biometric can be made mandatory for new registration. There is a preparation to implement it all over the country.

New GST rule of Aadhaar! In the GST Council meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, there is a preparation to bring a new rule of Aadhaar biometric authentication for GST registration.

The new rule of GST Council is being prepared to be implemented all over the country. States like Gujarat, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh have already implemented the proposal on a pilot basis.

Let us tell you what documents are required for GST registration?

  • CIN No./ Company’s Incorporation Certificate
  • PAN Card
  • Memorandum and Article of Association or Partnership deed or LLP deed
  • Address proof, such as ownership agreement, rent or lease agreement
  • Name, address, Aadhaar and PAN card of authorized signatory of the company

Under Aadhaar authentication, in most cases, there will be no physical verification of your business place.

However, physical verification is necessary in some cases. If you do not provide Aadhaar, you can also opt for physical verification.

On choosing the option of online authentication, you will be sent a link, through which you can complete the online process after form submission.

Once the application is verified, it has to be sent to the GST portal by clicking on the Submit button. After this, the application will be checked on the GST portal and all the information will be verified.

If the verification is successful, an ARN No. It will be generated and the authorized signatory will be informed about it by sending an acknowledgement through GST REG 02 form.

The application will then be forwarded to the GST officer. If everything is found to be correct, a GST registration certificate and GSTIN will be issued within about 7 days.
