The Income Tax Department was the first to start the system of faceless assessment without the taxpayer and the tax officer coming face to face. Later the Customs Department adopted it.
It will take some more time to launch the facility

GST was implemented on July 1, 2017. It includes 17 local charges including excise duty, service tax, value added tax (VAT) and cess.
