Information given by the department
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has informed that technical glitches in April 2022 GSTR-2B generation and auto-population of GSTR-3B have been reported on the portal. Following this, the department has ordered Infosys to resolve the issue at the earliest. The technical team of Infosys is working to correct GSTR-2B and auto-population GSTR-3B at the earliest.
Issued advisory
Giving information about this, CBIC tweeted, “In view of the difficulties faced by the taxpayers in filing GSTR-3B for the month of April 2022, a proposal to extend the due date for filing GSTR-3B for the month of April 2022 is under consideration.” .’
The GST Network, which gives technology to GST, issued an advisory for this, saying that there are some technical problems on the portal. Certain records are not getting reflected in the GSTR-2B statement for April 2022 on the portal. In such a situation, taxpayers have been advised to file GSTR-2B statement on self-assessment basis.
Request for extension of time
AMRG & Associates Senior Partner Rajat Mohan told the media, “Technical glitches on the portal will derail tax filing for lakhs of taxpayers in the current month. For the benefit of all businesses, the government should either extend the deadline for tax filing or waive the late fee for delay. Significantly, in the year 2015, Infosys was awarded a contract worth Rs 1,380 crore for the construction and maintenance of the GST system.
