GST Portal Down: Taxpayer may get more time to filing GSTR-1, know update

GST Portal Down: Due to problems in GST portal, many taxpayers may be deprived of filing returns. This is because the last date for filing returns is 11th January.

GST Portal Down: Due to technical flaws in the GST Network (GSTN) portal, businessmen across the country are unable to file GSTR-1 returns. The deadline for GSTR-1 filing is January 11, 2025. In view of this problem, GSTN has appealed to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to extend the date. Delay in GSTR-1 filing may affect GSTR-2B generation. This may cause problems for buyers in claiming input tax credit (ITC). Delay in ITC may have a negative impact on the cash flow of companies, as they may have to make GST payments in cash. Services like GSTR-1 return filing, access to historical data, and responding to official notices have been disrupted due to this technical problem.

GSTN on Friday informed on social media platform X that the portal is under maintenance due to technical glitches and will be made operational by 12 noon. However, later taxpayers received a new message stating that the portal will be available only after 3 pm. GST Tech wrote in its post, “The GST portal is currently facing technical issues and is under maintenance.”
