TCS, Infosys together take 20 percent of H-1B visas
According to a Money Control report, TCS and Infosys accounted for 20 percent of the total H-1B visas approved in the US in 2024. Apart from this, companies like HCL, Tech Mahindra and Wipro are also big employers in the US, but they are not much dependent on foreign professionals in their core market of North America.
America’s largest software exporter TCS earns almost half of its revenue from North America. While more than half of the US workforce has been recruited locally there. TCS MD Krithivasan says that he is not worried about the trend of cutting H-1B visas, because over the years his company’s dependence on it is decreasing and America’s local level share in appointments is increasing.
