Registration for H-1B visa will start from March 1

H-1B CAP subject petitioners or their representatives will be required to use the myUSCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process. In addition, each beneficiary must pay a $10 H-1B registration fee for each registration submitted. Potential petitioners submitting their own registration (US employers and US agents, collectively known as “registrants”) will use a “registrant” account. The registrants will be able to create new accounts from February 21 afternoon. The press release states that representatives can add customers to their accounts at any time.

What is H-1B Visa?

The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialized occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. Technology companies depend on it to hire thousands of employees every year from countries like India and China. Each year the US issues 65,000 new H-1B visas, while another 20,000 are reserved for US masters degree holders. Indians are among the biggest beneficiaries of this visa program, receiving around 70 per cent of the new visas issued every year.
