Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department of Haryana, Sanjeev Kaushal has said that the first installment at the rate of Rs 2,000 per acre will soon be deposited in the bank accounts of farmers under the ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme.
Kaushal said that a total of Rs 10.21 lakh will be given by the government as the first installment. This amount will be paid directly to the farmers sowing cotton crops except paddy in 17 districts of the state as per crop diversification scheme during Kharif-2020. He said that cotton was sown in a total of 20,420 hectares in the districts of Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind, Hisar, Kaithal, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat, Rohtak, Faridabad, Palwal, Rewari, Mewat, Gurugram, Panipat and Karnal. has gone.

He informed that ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme has been implemented in the direction of conserving ground water in the state. The state government paddy farmers of the blocks Ratia (district Fatehabad), Siwan and Guhla (district Kaithal), Pipli, Shahabad, Baban and Ismailabad (district Kurukshetra) and block Sirsa (district Sirsa) affected by the groundwater level reaching below 40 meters. The place is encouraged to sow maize, millet, cotton, pulses and horticultural crops originating from low water.
Under this scheme, the state government has promised to give Rs 7,000 per acre, with the first installment of Rs 2,000 after verification of the crop and the remaining Rs 5,000 payable at the time of harvesting.
