Not only technical problems, also had to deal with data leaks
It is not that the customers of the bank faced only technical problems, information about their data being leaked also came to the fore. Some time ago the data of the bank’s customers was leaked. A few hours later, the bank clarified that the problems had been resolved and no data was leaked. However, on March 8, Mint newspaper revealed that HDB Financials, the bank’s NBFC arm, had admitted to a data leak at one of its service providers.
RBI has also imposed restrictions
Due to technical difficulties, in December 2020, the central bank RBI temporarily banned HDFC Bank from issuing new credit cards to starting new digital services. The next year in 2021, there was some relaxation in the restrictions and the bank got approval to issue new credit cards. In March 2022, the restrictions will be completely removed. RBI is encouraging banks to invest in technology so that customers can get services without any hassle.
