The bank has extended the facility of special FD available to senior citizens till March 2023 i.e. now customers can take advantage of this special FD till March next year. The bank has given information about this by issuing a notification.

Benefit will be available till March 31

Let us tell you that HDFC Bank had introduced the Senior Citizen Care FD (HDFC Senior Citizen Care) scheme. This scheme was ending in December 2022, but now the government has extended this scheme till 31 March 2023. In this FD scheme, customers will get the benefit of more interest.

0.75 percent more interest is getting

Let us tell you that in this scheme, the bank is getting the benefit of interest at the rate of 6.50 percent on FDs from 5 to 10 years. This rate of interest is 0.75 percent higher than that of ordinary citizens. The bank launched this facility on May 18, 2020. In FDs maturing in 5 years from 1 day to 10 years, customers get the benefit of interest at the rate of 5.75 percent. At the same time, senior citizens will get 75 basis extra interest i.e. interest at the rate of 6.50 percent.

Many banks are offering FD facility

Apart from HDFC Bank, many banks including IDBI Bank and SBI are offering special FD facility to the customers. Banks started this facility during the Corona period and later all banks have extended this facility.
