Heavy Rain Alert: The weather is going to deteriorate once again in Uttarakhand. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, hailstorm, strong thunderstorm and lightning in many districts of the state for the next seven days. This havoc of weather can be seen in the state from April 15 to April 21. The IMD has clarified that the situation may worsen even more between April 18 and 20. Heavy rains, strong winds and hail are likely to fall across the state in these three days.
Effect of western disturbance, weather changed
The western disturbance that became active in Uttarakhand is now rapidly affecting the weather of the state. Since Monday morning, many districts have been covered with thick clouds in the sky and mild cold is also being felt. The weather started turning from Sunday afternoon itself, and now it is going to continue for the whole week. Due to the presence of clouds, the day temperature has also decreased and the effect of cold winds has increased.
There may be rain and thunderstorm in these districts today
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain with thunder and thunderstorm at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts on April 15. A yellow alert has been issued in these districts today. Along with this, the possibility of lightning cannot be ignored.
The weather will deteriorate even more tomorrow and day after tomorrow
The IMD estimates that the weather may deteriorate in all the districts except US Nagar and Haridwar on April 16 and 17. Heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning may occur at some places these days. The special thing is that people have been advised to be alert about the danger of lightning.
The most dangerous days will be from 18 to 20 April
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in all the districts of Uttarakhand on 18, 19 and 20 April. Especially on 19 and 20 April, heavy rain, hail and thunderstorm can wreak havoc in the entire state. During this time, incidents of lightning may also occur, which may increase the risk of loss of life.
No relief even on 21 April
Although there may be some relief in the weather on 21 April, but there will be a possibility of rain in some districts like Dehradun, Chamoli and Pithoragarh. Therefore, the Meteorological Department has advised people to be extra cautious for the next seven days.
