Home Minister Amit Shah met PM Modi, gave information about the suggestions of Chief Ministers

New Delhi, PTI Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and made him aware of the suggestions of the Chief Ministers on whether to proceed with the lockdown or not. It is known that the fourth phase of the lockdown in the country is coming to an end on 31 May. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday spoke to all Chief Ministers to know their views on whether to increase the lockdown or not. During the talks, Shah also inquired from the Chief Ministers about the areas that the states want to open from June 1.




This was the first time since the lockdown was imposed in the country that this time, in place of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah assumed the responsibility of talking to the Chief Ministers. Earlier in the last days of every phase of the lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself knew his opinion from the Chief Ministers through video conferencing. However, the Union Home Minister was also present during the talks. According to the officials, most of the Chief Ministers suggested to implement the fifth phase of lockdown in this telephonic conversation.




According to the officials, the Chief Ministers have suggested to continue the economic activities along with the lockdown and slowly return to normal life. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet. According to the report, the central government will definitely take a decision on the issue of lockdown in the next three days. Apart from Home Minister Shah, Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Goba also discussed the same issue with the Chief Secretaries of the states on Thursday through video conferencing. According to the officials, the Chief Ministers have suggested to continue the economic activities along with the lockdown and slowly return to normal life. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet. According to the report, the central government will definitely take a decision on the issue of lockdown in the next three days. Apart from Home Minister Shah, Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Goba also discussed the same issue with the Chief Secretaries of the states on Thursday through video conferencing.
