Hong Kong, agency. Cari Lam has backed China’s proposed National Security Act amidst the backlash in Hong Kong. The citizens of Hong Kong consider it to be China’s big conspiracy against their independence. Therefore, it is being feared that people may take to the streets against this proposed law.

On the other hand, Hong Kong Chief Executive Cali Lam said in favor of the Chinese stand that China’s proposed national security law would not pose any threat to the civil rights of Hong Kong, a semi-autonomous region. He stressed that we have no need to worry about the action being taken by the Ceremonial National People’s Congress of China. He supported the proposed legislation, saying that it was necessary to support it for the greater benefit of Hong Kong. Lam said that the proposal needed to be supported for the benefit of the majority of Hong Kong people. Lam further said that he would resume flights to Hong Kong International Airport from June 1. But to prevent the spread of the corona virus, foreigners will not be allowed to enter the city.
