In India, Aadhaar card is very important to avail various types of government and non-government services. But do you know that apart from the white Aadhaar card, there is also a blue Aadhaar card which the government makes for children, it is also called ‘Baal Aadhaar Card’. Its background is blue instead of white.

Blue Aadhaar card for children of what age

As we have already told that blue Aadhaar card is made only for children. Blue Aadhaar card is made for children who are five years of age or less. After the age of 5, this blue Aadhaar card with 12 digits automatically becomes invalid.

How is the blue Aadhaar card different from the white one?

The first difference is that the blue Aadhaar card is made only for children of five or less than five years of age. The second biggest thing is that this Aadhaar card does not contain the biometric information of the children.

Not valid after the age of 5 years

As soon as the child crosses the age of 5 years, the blue Aadhaar card becomes invalid. After this, a new Aadhaar card has to be made which remains valid till the age of 15 years. After the age of 15, a new Aadhaar card has to be made which also contains biometric information.

Documents for making blue Aadhaar card

According to UIDAI, parents of children can get blue Aadhaar card made through the school ID card of the children. If the child is very young and has not started going to school yet, then in such a case you have to give the child’s birth certificate or the discharge slip received from the hospital at the time of the child’s birth to get the Aadhaar card made.

How to enroll for blue Aadhaar

To get a blue Aadhaar card, you will have to go to the enrollment center with your child. Also, do not forget to take all the necessary documents mentioned above. Go to the enrollment office and fill the enrollment form with the documents mentioned.

Parents’ Aadhaar is also necessary

It is important to remember here that your child’s blue Aadhaar card will be made on your Aadhaar card. Therefore, take your Aadhaar card to the enrollment office as well.

If not biometric, then what?

As mentioned above, the child’s biometric is not required for the blue Aadhaar card, only the child’s photo is clicked. After this, further verification is done.

Permanent mobile number is necessary

Now when you fill the enrollment form for the blue Aadhaar card, you will also have to give a permanent mobile number there, the Aadhaar card will be made only with the OTP received on this mobile number.

Blue Aadhaar card is made within 60 days

After verification of the documents and mobile number provided by you, you will receive the blue Aadhaar card within 60 days. If you want, you can also download the blue Aadhaar card copy yourself by visiting the UIDAI website using your Aadhaar number.
