How Many Countries Official Currency is Rupee, See Full List Here

The official currency of India is Rupee (₹). It is one of the major currencies of the world, which is controlled by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). But apart from India, there are many countries in the world where the currency is named Rupee. This includes India’s neighboring countries Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and many other countries.

Pakistan

The national currency of Pakistan is Rupee, which is known as Pakistani Rupee (PKR). It is issued by the State Bank of Pakistan. Pakistani Rupee is different from Indian Rupee, but both have the same name.

Sri Lanka

Rupee (LKR) is also the national currency in Sri Lanka. It is called Sri Lankan Rupee and is issued by the Sri Lankan Central Bank. Sri Lankan Rupee is more valuable than Indian Rupee, but both currencies have the same name.

Nepali

The currency of Nepal is also Rupee (NPR), which is controlled by the Nepal Rastra Bank. Nepalese Rupee is very similar to Indian Rupee, but it is different in geographical and political terms.

Maldives

The currency of Maldives is also called “Rufiyaa”, which is called Maldivian Rupee (MVR). This currency is issued by the Central Bank of Maldives and is widely used within the archipelago of Maldives.

Bhutan

The Rupee (BTN) is also used in Bhutan. The Bhutanese Rupee is valid along with the Indian Rupee, but Bhutan also has its own currency. The Bhutanese Rupee runs at the same rate as the Indian Rupee and has been adopted by Bhutan for its economy.

Indonesia

The currency of Indonesia is called Rupiah. It is the largest country in Southeast Asia and Rupiah is widely used here.

Seychelles

The currency of Seychelles is also called Rupee. Its official name is Seychelles Rupee. It is divided into 100 cents. In the local Seychellois Creole (Seselwa) language, it is called Rupi and in French it is called Rupi.
