Your work will be done in these easy steps
- First of all, open the internet browser and go to the official Indian Citizenship Online portal https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/.
- Now you have to scroll down and click on ‘Click to Submit Application for Indian Citizenship Under CAA, 2019’ dialogue box.
- After this, you will have to login with the help of email ID or mobile number and captcha and then enter your name and contact information.
- After this, this information will have to be verified by entering the One Time Password (OTP) received on both the email ID and mobile number.
- You will have to fill the form visible on the screen and answer some questions while attaching photographs of the necessary documents.
- Finally, you will have to pay an online application fee of Rs 50 and you will get the option to take a print out of the form.
- After online application, an officer will be appointed to verify the information. People applying may have to present the printout of the form in front of the District Magistrate or District Collector. Apart from this, people living outside the country can present their documents before the Consul General of India.
- After all the documents are submitted, the state and central governments will complete the process within 60 days. In this regard, information related to the application will be available through email and phone number and information about getting citizenship will also be given there.
