Aadhaar Card: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) manages the biometric ID programme Aadhaar.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) – the issuer of the 12-digit personal identification number Aadhaar – provides a slew of online facilities for Aadhaar applicants and enrollees. One such service provided by the UIDAI enables those registered under the Aadhaar programme to download a digital copy of their Aadhaar identification card. The digital Aadhaar is “as valid as the Aadhaar letter receievd by post”, the UIDAI said on Twitter. The UIDAI manages the biometric ID programme Aadhaar. How To Download Aadhaar Card
Here’s a step-by-step guide to download a digital copy of Aadhaar card:
Go to the UIDAI’s Aadhaar portal, uidai.gov.in.
Click on the “download Aadhaar” option under the “get Aadhaar” section.
On the next page, the user can enter any of the Aadhaar number (UID), the enrolment ID (EID) and the virtual ID (VID) to proceed.

The user also gets the option of a masked digital copy of Aadhaar card. This masks the Aadhaar number in the digital copy of the Aadhaar card, which means the whole 12-digit UID is not visible in the digital copy.
After filling in the required details, click on the “Send OTP” button. After this, the UIDAI sends an OTP or one-time passcode to the user’s Aadhaar-registered mobile number.
