How To File ITR Online: The last date for filing Income Tax Return ( ITR ) for the financial year 2023-24 and assessment year 2024-25 has arrived. The taxpayer has to file ITR by 31 July 2024. This means that there is still 2 months time to file the return.

Many taxpayers have filed their returns . Salaried taxpayers are waiting for Form-16. Returns should be filed only after Form-16 is issued so that there is no mistake in the ITR.

Today we will tell you how you can file ITR online in a few minutes.

How to file ITR online?

Step 1: You need to visit the official website of Income Tax Department (https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/).

Step 2: Now log in with the help of PAN number and password.

Step 3: After this select the assessment year. If you are filing return for the financial year 2023-24 then you have to select Assessment Year (AY) 2024-25.

Step 4: Now you have to select any one option from Individual, HUF and choose the ITR type. Let us tell you that ITR form number 1 to 4 is for Individual and HUF.

Step 5: After selecting the ITR form, you have to complete the basic deduction, taxable income and other details and click on the checkbox given below.

Step 6: After this, you have to check all the information and if all the information is correct then confirm the return file.

  • PAN Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank statement
  • Form 16 (ITR Form-16)
  • Donation Slip
  • Insurance or Loan certificate and Receipt of investment, insurance policy or home loan payment
  • Interest Certificate
