In order to avail government subsidy directly in the State Bank of India (SBI) savings account, it is necessary to be linked to Aadhaar. SBI has asked its customers to link their bank accounts to Aadhaar through Twitter to take direct benefits. SBI said in a tweet, “We want to inform our customers that Aadhaar card seeding is mandatory to get direct benefits or subsidies from the Government of India.”
As per the Supreme Court ruling, it is not mandatory to link your bank account with your Aadhaar number.
