Change Savings Account to Jan Dhan Account

What is the rule
- RBI has prepared guidelines for Jan Dhan accounts. According to this, if a citizen does not have any official document including Voter id card, Pan, Aadhaar, he can still open an account.
- In order to open an account by visiting a nearby bank branch, self-attested photographs will have to be given in the presence of the bank officer.
- Photo must have sign or thumbprint. Then the banker opens the account.
Then, to keep the account running, any valid document has to be made and deposited in the bank within 12 months, after which this account will continue to operate.
