Huami Amazfit T-Rex rugged smartwatch now available in India: Price, features

The Huami Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch comes with a heart rate sensor and a sleep monitor to help you track your health.

Huami is launching the Amazfit T-Rex smartwatches in India months after it debuted them at the CES 2020. The AmazFit T-Rex comes as a rugged smartwatch with the MIL-STD-810G standard for durability. The design of the smartwatch is similar to old chronograph and mechanical watches and comes in military print on its straps.



Priced at Rs 9,999, the Huami Amazfit is up for grabs on Amazon.in and the company website while it will be available to buy at Croma, Reliance Digital, and Poorvika Mobiles for physical purchases.

The Amazfit T-Rex teasers began flooding in last month when Huami was busy building the hype around the smartwatch. Rightfully so, the Amazfit T-Rex borrows so many design elements from the digital watches. On top of that, there is the military-standard for weather endurance and protection against accidental drops. Huami claims the smartwatch can withstand damp, salt, and other outdoor activities, in addition to surviving in temperatures between -40 degrees to 70 degrees Celsius.

The Huami Amazfit T-Rex comes with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display that can produce 16.7 million colours. It has a BioTracker PPG optical heart rate sensor, an activity tracker, a sleep monitor, a 28nm Sony GPS chip, and GLONASS. There is a 390mAh battery under the hood, which is rated to deliver a life of up to 66 days, depending on the usage. There are over 30 watch faces on the smartwatch and support for music playback control.

The Amazfit T-Rex will last for 20 days when it is being used with the heart-rate sensor on, GPS turned on for 13 minutes a day, 150 messages pushed on a daily basis, the display is turned on about 30 times, and 5 minutes of other operations. For when it is being used with GPS consistently turned on with recording motion, heart-rate sensor turned on over and above other activities, the Amazfit T-Rex is claimed to last up to 20 hours. It will last for up to 66 days when the Bluetooth connection is turned off, heart rate, other functions, and lifting the wrist to see the screen performed only 100 times a day.

Huami is claiming the heart rate sensor on the smartwatch can offer high-precision measurement for 24 hours. It will log in interval values and abnormal heart rate patterns, as well. The Amazfit T-Rex features 14 sport modes and has 5ATM water-resistance that allow it to work underwater and while swimming and taking a shower.
