Hyderabad Metro Rail recently arranged for a special train service to transport a pregnant woman to her destination. According to a top Metro Rail official, the woman reached Victoria Memorial Station during heavy rain on the night of 14 October. There he told the Metro Rail workers that he had to go to Miyapur and could not find any other means. After this, the officers decided to conduct a special service on the request of the woman.
The official said that we had stopped the services till 9 pm as per rules. But the woman entered the station around 10 am and requested us to run the train. HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy said that our people arranged for a special train and took it safely to its destination. Let it be said that torrential rains on 13 and 14 October damaged the city and neighboring parts and disrupted normal life including public transport. Due to Corona, metro services in Hyderabad are running only from 7 am to 9 pm.
