ICC World Cup 2019: India’s pre-World Cup schedule

HIGHLIGHTS

  • India play their first warm-up game against New Zealand on May 25.
  • India play their second warm-up game against Bangladesh on May 28.
  • All captains are scheduled to meet the Queen for High Tea on May 29.

India fly to England a full 10 days before making their way to Southampton, the venue for their first World Cup fixture against South Africa on June 5. Each day starting May 22, and leading to their arrival in Southampton, is filled with activity for this Indian team. From photo shoots to ICC workshops, training and warm-ups, addressing the media to meeting the Queen, Team India will have their plate full before the real test begins.

ICC WORLD CUP 2019 SCHEDULE

 

TOI unveils their pre-World Cup schedule:

MAY 22: Departure from Mumbai & arrival in London

MAY 23: Rest day / Players to follow team protocol / Meeting of team management followed by a full-fledged meeting of entire team. All concerns to be heard and addressed followed by a detailed session of charting out daily activity over the next eight days.

MAY 24: First full training session at the Oval followed by media interactions of all captains, anti-corruption and anti-doping workshops with ICC, photo shoots

MAY 25: First warm-up game against New Zealand at the Oval (starting 3 pm IST)

MAY 26: Departure to Cardiff by road; Rest; Team meeting to take stock of first warm-up game



MAY 27: Training at Sophia Gardens followed by press conference; Meeting of support staff with team management and senior players

MAY 28: Second warm-up game against Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens (starting 3 pm IST)

MAY 29: Team leaves for Southampton while captain Virat Kohli heads to the Buckingham Palace, London; All captains to meet the Queen for High Tea

MAY 30: Rest in Southampton

MAY 31: First pre-World Cup training session begins – five days ahead of India’s first game against South Africa on June 5 – followed by a press conference.
