ICICI Bank Advisory: ICICI Bank has issued an advisory for users. It has been said that users should be alert from any fake links and files as these could be a trick of cyber criminals. Along with this, the bank has also shared some tips for the users, by which online fraud can be avoided. The bank says that many such cases are being seen in which users have suffered huge losses after clicking on the link.

While issuing advisory, ICICI Bank said that scammers extract OTP from your mobile and take control of the smartphone. In this way, scammers not only steal data but can also empty your account. The bank tells its customers that the bank never asks its customers to call the mobile number or download the app, nor does it send any SMS or WhatsApp message related to this. The bank has also shared some tips regarding this.

You can follow these tips

  • The first thing you should do is update your mobile with the latest operating system and security patches.
  • Secondly, it is important for you that if you are installing any app, then always do it from Google Play Store or Apple Play Store only.
  • Third, install anti-virus or security software only from a trusted provider and keep installing it from time to time.
  • Whenever any application asks for permission, verify it first.
  • Apart from this, do not click on suspicious links coming in messages or emails.
  • Do not download applications from any unknown source.
  • Along with this, do not share OTP, password, PIN or card number with anyone by mistake.
  • If any fraud occurs, immediately report it to the National Cyber Crime Portal.
