IMD Alert: Cold wave continues to wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh. Orange alert has been issued regarding cold weather and fog in many areas of the state. Very thick fog will be seen in some areas. The minimum temperature in the morning in Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Prayagraj divisions including the capital Lucknow has gone below 10 degrees Celsius. However, the IMD has predicted no major change in the maximum temperature during the next 4 days.

Rain alert in UP

Cold Day Alert

Cold Day alert has been issued in 57 districts of UP. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of cold day in Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar and Jaunpur districts on Thursday. Along with this, cold day is likely in Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Hardoi, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur and Farrukhabad. There is also a cold day alert in Kanpur Nagar, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Mathura, Hathras, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur and Kasganj. Cold day is also likely in Etah Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Badaun Jalaun, Hamirpur and its surrounding areas.

New western disturbance

According to meteorologists, a new western disturbance will bring a change in the weather between January 10 and 12. This may cause light rain in North West India including Delhi. According to IMD, this will reduce the fog but will not have any significant effect on the temperature. Along with this, cold day has been issued due to not much difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures of the day.

Weather of the capital Lucknow

In the capital Lucknow, the temperature is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius at night on Thursday, January 9, 2025 and the temperature during the day can be 17 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow it may be partly cloudy here.

Weather in Prayagraj

In Sangamnagari Prayagraj, the temperature is expected to be 4 degrees Celsius at night on Thursday and the temperature during the day may be 14 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow it may be cloudy and strong winds may blow. There will be fog in many places and cold winds will blow.

Weather of Meerut

In Meerut, the temperature at night on January 9, 2025 may be 6 degrees Celsius and the temperature during the day may be 18 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow it may be partly cloudy here.

Weather of Varanasi

In the city of religion Varanasi, the temperature is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius at night on Thursday, January 9, 2025 and the temperature during the day can be 18 degrees Celsius. After the morning fog, the sun may come out in the afternoon and the fog may show its effect at night. It may increase.

How will the weather be in the coming days

According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert of dense fog has also been issued in some places of the eastern and western parts on January 10. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of western UP on January 11. Due to which the cold will increase.

Moderate to light rain

There is a possibility of light rain at some places in eastern UP. Light rain may also occur in eastern and western UP on January 12. During this time, fog may prevail in both parts of the state in the morning and late night, it can be shallow to moderate. It may rain till January 11 and during this time cold winds can blow at a speed of 4 kilometers per hour.

2-3 degree drop

If we look at the IMD forecast, there is a possibility of a 2-3 degree drop in the maximum and minimum temperatures in Uttar Pradesh in the next three days. After this, there is also a possibility of an increase of 2 to 4 degrees. If meteorologists are to be believed, a new western disturbance can cause a change in the weather between January 10 and 12. According to the IMD, the fog will go away but there will be no significant effect on the temperature.
