Weather Update Today: While the hilly states are experiencing bone-chilling cold, dense fog is occurring at many places in North India. During the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees Celsius were recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and west Bihar. The weather here will remain the same during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in most parts of Eastern UP, South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand is between 8-12 degrees Celsius.

Rain and snowfall alert in these states

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during December 22-24. Apart from this, rain may also occur at isolated places in North Haryana and North Punjab. Let us tell you that it is severe winter in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The minimum temperature at some places in Himachal is below minus 15 degrees Celsius. At the same time, in Jammu and Kashmir also the temperature is being recorded below minus 3-7 degrees.

There will be dense fog here

The weather department has predicted dense fog in the morning for the next four days in Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura. Apart from this, there will be light or moderate fog in Delhi, UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh.

Will get some relief from cold

The Meteorological Department said that no significant change will be seen in the weather across the country during the next five days. Minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3℃ in northern India in the next three days. This means that the people of North India may get some relief from the cold.

How will it be in Delhi

Cold has increased in Delhi-NCR also. Melting is being felt in the entire NCR including Delhi and Noida even during day time. The weather will be normal in Delhi today. Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and the air quality still remains in the ‘poor’ category.

Shivering cold in Rajasthan

In most parts of Rajasthan, the minimum temperature dropped by two to three degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while the shivering cold continues in some parts. According to the Meteorological Department spokesperson, Fatehpur in Sikar recorded a minimum temperature of 1.3 degrees Celsius and was the coldest place in the state. He said that last night’s temperature in Sikar was recorded at three degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, there is a possibility of cloudy sky in some parts of the state on December 22 due to the influence of a weak western disturbance. The Center said that during this period, there is a possibility of light rain or drizzle at isolated places in Jodhpur, Bikaner division and Shekhawati region and the possibility of rain in the remaining parts is very less. At the same time, there is a possibility of a slight drop in the minimum temperature from December 23-24 and the weather will remain mainly dry in most parts of the state.
