Feeling of heat in January

According to Skymet, January has been warmer than normal so far. The main reason for the hot weather in Delhi at this time is the absence of any seasonal system in the plains. For this reason, there has been good sunshine for the last few days. Dense fog has disappeared from almost all parts of the city. The speed of the winds has slowed down due to the passage of Western Disturbance over the northern mountainous regions. Therefore, due to clear sky, slow winds and no fog, the temperature has started increasing during the day.

Why is Delhi’s weather changing?

At present, a Western Disturbance is active in the North Pakistan region. A system is active over West Rajasthan in the lower levels. This Western Disturbance will affect the mountainous regions on January 22 and 23. On January 22, it will reach north-east Rajasthan, Delhi and adjoining parts of Uttar Pradesh and will move towards the Terai regions of West Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on the next day, January 23. Rain will start from late night on January 22.

Intermittent rain and thundershowers may occur in the morning and afternoon of January 23. At the same time, the weather will start clearing by the evening and night of January 23. After January 23, the day temperature will go below 20 degrees. For the next three days, the minimum temperature will remain above normal and in double digits. After this, the temperature will fall. After the rain ends, dense fog may return again on January 24 and thereafter.
