Weather Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the beginning of the withdrawal of monsoon from India from western Rajasthan on 23 September. This annual process symbolizes the withdrawal of monsoon and the beginning of autumn i.e. winter. At the same time, as soon as the rain stops in the country’s capital Delhi, an increase in temperature is being recorded. Let us know the weather condition across the country.

The heat has started to haunt the country’s capital Delhi since the rain stopped. It is getting so hot in the afternoon, as if May has returned. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), today on September 24, the heat will continue with the increase in temperature. However, it is getting slightly cold in the morning and evening. Apart from this, rain is being seen in many states across the country. Let us know the weather condition across the country.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, today, September 24, South Madhya Pradesh, South-East Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkani and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and South Chhattisgarh may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain once or twice.

Clouds will also rain in these states today

Light to moderate rain is possible in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Light rain is possible in Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, South-Eastern Uttar Pradesh, South-Eastern Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.

Despite the early withdrawal from western Rajasthan, an upcoming low pressure system (LPS) may delay the withdrawal of monsoon from some areas of north and northwest India. Due to the effect of this LPS, monsoon is expected to persist for a few extra days over these areas. However, the IMD forecasts that by the second week of October, the monsoon will gradually start withdrawing from the entire country.
