Thunderstorm and lightning may occur at isolated places in Kerala and Mahe.

Heavy rainfall is possible at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.


IMD Alert: The monsoon line is moving southwards from its normal position to Rajasthan, Northern Madhya Pradesh, Northern Orissa and from there south-eastwards to the Bay of Bengal. Due to which significant changes are being seen in the weather in many states. The weather has changed in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa. Besides, a warning of light rain has also been issued in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. At present, the rainy season will continue in these areas.

Alert of heavy rain in Chhattisgarh Jharkhand

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, while a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, rain activity will continue in Coastal, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and West Bengal.

Rain forecast for 4 days in Delhi NCR

Apart from this, warning of heavy rain with thunder and lightning was also issued in MP, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya and Manipur, Mizoram Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Rain has been predicted for 4 days in the capital Delhi NCR. The weather is going to change in many districts of Uttarakhand. There are chances of rain in North India. Due to heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh, a situation of water logging was created on the roads of Lucknow.

The Meteorological Department says that heavy rain activity is going to continue in Uttar Pradesh from Wednesday to Saturday. Thunderstorms and rain including lightning have been predicted in more than 30 districts.

There are chances of heavy rain in the eastern and southern districts of Madhya Pradesh, while sporadic rain can be seen in Bhopal and Jabalpur. There may be interruption in rain activity in western Uttar Pradesh from September 15, while torrential rains are going to continue at many other places till September 16.

Uttarakhand: Orange alert of heavy rain in four districts
The weather is going to change once again in many districts of Uttarakhand. Orange alert of heavy rain has been issued in four districts. There will be significant changes in the weather of the state for the next two days. Yellow alert for rain has been issued in Dehradun, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri. There is a possibility of several rounds of rain with strong thunder.

Weather system

  • Talking about the weather system, the monsoon line is reaching south-east Bay of Bengal from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa.
  • Whereas a cyclonic circulation is formed over the central part of the Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Bay of Bengal.
  • There remains a field of low and low medicine. With its becoming active in the next 24 hours, significant changes will be seen in the weather in South Chhattisgarh including the coast of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh.

Another circulation is located in south-west Uttar Pradesh.

And an east-west line is formed between two cyclonic circulations over Southeast Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and North Orissa. Due to which there will be significant changes in the weather of these areas.

Monsoon in weak condition

  • Rain was seen in Haryana on Tuesday. However, with this the sultry heat started. Now there is effect of heavy rain till 17th September. After September 17, the temperature will once again rise at some places.
  • Monsoon is in weak condition in Himachal Pradesh. Due to which the weather remains clear. The heat has increased in the capital Shimla. An increase of 1 to 2% in temperature has also been recorded in many districts.
  • Monsoon will remain weak in many areas of Bihar including the capital Patna for the next 3 days. Due to which the possibility of heavy rain has been ruled out. However, moderate rain may be seen. The sky will be cloudy. Rain may be seen over parts of Bhabhua, East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan and Gopalganj during the next 24 hours.

Know when it will rain

  • In Orissa and Jharkhand on 13 to 15 September
  • Whereas on 14 September in West Bengal
  • On September 15, Andaman and Nicobar Deep group may see heavy rain with lightning.

Alert in these states

  • Heavy rainfall is possible at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall at some places is expected in Odisha.
  • Thunderstorm and lightning may occur at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim.
  • Thunderstorm and lightning may occur at isolated places over Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam.
  • A storm with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
