IMD Alert, Today Weather Update: Changes in the weather are being seen continuously across the country. There is no relief from the cold on January 6. From January 6 to January 10, the cold weather will continue in North India. Melting will increase due to cold winds. Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab including Himachal have seen a drastic drop in temperature. Along with this, orange and red alert of cold wave has been issued in these areas.
The minimum temperature in the capital Delhi dropped by 3 degrees
The minimum temperature in the capital Delhi has seen a drop of 3 degrees. Delhi has recorded the lowest temperature in January in 2 years. The minimum temperature in the capital on Wednesday was 4 degrees Celsius while Dalhousie recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius.
Temperature dropped in other areas
Dharamshala recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius. Dehradun recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius. Whereas Mussoorie recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius. A warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Nainital . Orange alert of cold day has been issued.
Red alert issued in many areas of Uttar Pradesh
There is a pre-estimation of severe cold with cold wave in Lucknow. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be melting in the capital from January 6 to 12. There is also a possibility of light drizzle and winds at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. Pre-estimated. People have been advised to be cautious. Along with this, while issuing red alert in 18 districts, forecast of cold wave and fog has also been expressed. The minimum temperature is expected to drop down to 6 degree Celsius.
Outbreak of cold in Bihar, possibility of drizzle
From 8th, there will be huge changes in the weather. The record of 64 years has been broken due to cold in Bihar. An alert was issued by the Meteorological Department regarding the cold wave. There will be no change in the weather for the next 5 days. People have been advised to avoid dense fog.
According to the meteorologists of the Central Agricultural University, the maximum temperature from the year 1960 to the year 2023 is the lowest. In the last 64 years in North India, the lowest maximum temperature in January has been recorded on December 5. Due to the active Western Disturbance from December 9, some significant changes will be seen in the weather. Along with this, the intensity of fog and mist will also decrease.

Mercury reached minus in many cities of Rajasthan

Along with this , yellow alert has been issued in Dhaulpur, Jaipur, Karauli, Kota, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, Sri Ganganagar, Chittorgarh, Dausa Bundi, while a warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department for Saturday as well . A weak Western Disturbance will be active till January 10. Due to which there will be relief from cold wave and two to three percent increase in temperature will be seen. However, the possibility of rain has been ruled out in Rajasthan.
Snowfall with rain in Uttarakhand
From January 8, there will be major effects on the weather. Rain and snowfall has been predicted in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh of Uttarakhand Himachal along with the hill district from January today. For the time being, relief will be seen from the fog in the plains. With the western disturbance becoming active, the minimum temperature will drop to 2 degree Celsius. In some areas the minimum temperature has reached minus. Orange alert of cold wave including fog has been issued on Friday.
Whereas from January 8, there is a possibility of rain with snowfall with a weak Western Disturbance being active. During this, despite the snowfall in the hilly areas, a decrease in temperature will be seen in the plains. Bikaner recorded a minimum temperature of 0 degree Celsius today, Naugaon Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh recorded a minimum temperature of 0.2 degree Celsius.
Cold day warning in Haryana and Punjab
The havoc of cold continues in Haryana Punjab. From Friday to Sunday, both the states would see a significant drop in the minimum temperature. According to the department, forecast of severe cold has been expressed for Hisar. Apart from this, a decrease in temperature will also be seen in Delhi including Bikaner in Rajasthan. Orange has been issued regarding the cold day.
Outbreak of cold in Jharkhand
A rain warning has been issued in some areas of Jharkhand today. Although the sky will be clear in some areas. There will be strong sunshine. A rise in the minimum temperature will be observed. For the next two days, a drop of three to five percent in temperature has been predicted in some areas of Jharkhand. Yellow alert has been issued regarding cold day.
Rain warning in eastern states
Talking about the eastern state, the process of light rain with snowfall will continue in Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland etc. Apart from this, traffic services will be disrupted due to snowfall in many areas. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has forecast cold wave and cold wind. People have been advised to be cautious.
