IMD Rainfall, Weather: Northeast Monsoon rainfall activity is likely to commence over this region in the next 48 hours with easterly/northeasterly winds over southern Peninsular India. A low pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal. On the other hand, the impact of Cyclone Tej coming in the Arabian Sea will be seen in 4 states. Heavy rain has been predicted in many states on Dussehra.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain can be seen in some areas of Bihar and Jharkhand, while the havoc of rain is going to continue in Eastern India. There will be a drop in temperature in the capital Delhi, the sky will be cloudy. There are indications of rain in Punjab and Haryana. Fog will increase in Lucknow and Delhi.
Impact of cyclone
The impact of the cyclone can be seen, strong winds will blow in the south-west and adjoining south-central Arabian Sea today. Wind can blow at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, stormy weather has also been predicted in South and adjacent Central Bay of Bengal. Wind speed can range from 45 kilometers to 55 kilometers per hour. A cyclone ‘Tej’ active over the Arabian Sea
The pressure area over the South Western Arabian Sea is moving west northwest at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour during 6 hours and has turned into a deep depression. Due to which there is a possibility of a cyclone becoming active over the South Western Arabian Sea in the next 12 hours. The effect of the cyclonic storm can be seen in this area from the evening of 22 October. By the morning of October 24, it will move towards Oman and surrounding Yemen elements and cross the Oman-Yemen coast. Northeast monsoon is expected to begin in the southern states of the country. Whereas South Peninsular India may see rain from Northeast Monsoon in 48 hours due to easterly north-easterly winds.
Decrease in visibility due to increasing fog
Between October 21 and 23, the weather may change in some areas of Punjab, Haryana and the capital Delhi. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain. There will be clouds in the sky in the country’s capital New Delhi. Visibility will be less. Actually, visibility may decrease due to increase in fog. A low pressure area lies over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. On October 21, the minimum temperature can be 16 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature can be recorded at 32 degrees. There is a possibility of light rains in Delhi on October 22. There will be clouds in other areas of Uttar Pradesh including the capital Lucknow.
Strong wind has also been predicted. On Mahanavami and Vijayadashami, wind speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour may occur in more than 12 districts. The core will be visible in the morning whereas heat can be felt in the afternoon and evening. However, cold will be experienced at night when the minimum temperature reaches 16 degrees. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain in Andaman Nicobar Deep group, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu including Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Royal Border and Andaman Nicobar Deep group till October 25.
Forecast of landslides and heavy rain
Apart from this, landslides and heavy rains have been predicted with the change in weather in Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram. As the weather changes in these areas, a drop in temperature will be seen. However, the day temperature will increase due to which heat will be experienced. Between October 21-27, light to moderate rain can be seen in parts of the Western Himalayas including Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Apart from this, its impact will be seen on some areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat. However, the weather will remain dry in Rajasthan and Gujarat till October 30. There is less possibility of change in weather.
Snowfall is going to continue in the hilly states. Snowfall can be seen on the mountain peaks in Jammu and Kashmir, Leh, Ladakh, Gilgit Balistan, Muzaffarabad and other areas, while moderate rain has been predicted in the lower areas. There is a possibility of 3 to 4% drop in minimum temperature in Bihar and Jharkhand in the next 4 days. The sky will be cloudy between 23 and 25 October. Rain has been predicted in many areas of Jharkhand on 24th. Apart from this, light rain can also be seen in some areas of West Bengal and Orissa.
