IMD Alert: Chance of rain in 10 states till February 25, temperature will rise in 8 states including Maharashtra, know details

Today Weather Update: A rain warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department in many states. Along with this the Western Disturbance will be active from tonight. Due to which weather changes will be seen in UP, Delhi, Bihar including Haryana and Punjab. At the same time, forecast of rain has also been issued on the foothills of Uttarakhand, Himachal.


IMD Alert, Today Weather Update: From today the Western Disturbance is becoming active over the Western Himalayas. With the Western Disturbance becoming active, a weak system along with a strong gradual system is also going to start in the middle of the week. Due to which the weather system will be affected in the northernmost part of the country. The sky will be cloudy in Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha. Apart from this, strong cold winds will blow. Drizzle has also been predicted at some places.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, from February 19, a new Western Disturbance will start affecting the West Himalayan region. Due to which snowfall will be seen in Uttarakhand including Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, a forecast of rain has been issued on the foothills below. Western Disturbances are essentially warm air systems that originate over the Mediterranean Sea. In such a situation, due to moving towards the east, it moves by picking up moisture from the way. Due to the collision of the Himalayan mountain ranges with the moisture rising from the Bay of Bengal, the chances of rain are high.

In such a situation, the possibility of snowfall including light to moderate intensity and scattered rain has been expressed from 19 to 25 February. Snowfall and rain alert has been issued in Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Ladakh. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, from Monday to Friday, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh including Himachal, Uttarakhand and different places will see thunder and lightning. Along with this, a forecast of lightning was also issued. Avalanche warnings have been issued.

Thunderstorm warning in Delhi

The capital Delhi has been forecasted while issuing warnings of thunderstorms and storms. According to the IMD’s Regional Meteorological Center in New Delhi, a forecast of rain has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Tuesday, Himachal and Uttarakhand from Wednesday to Friday. People have been instructed to be aware of the local weather conditions while strong wind will prevail in Punjab, Haryana and capital Delhi. There will be clouds in the sky. The visibility of the Sun will be less.

Rain in these areas

However, due to the active Western Disturbance, a forecast of rain and snowfall has been issued. Which will continue in the eastern state as well. Rainfall will continue in the eastern state including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland. Landslide warnings have also been issued. Along with this, warnings of strong wind and gale have also been issued while due to strong Western Disturbance, rain spreads to the adjoining North Western region. Due to this weak Western Disturbance, the Northwest will accept warm conditions and the coming week may once again see a significant rise in the temperatures.

According to the weather bulletin, light rain and snowfall will be seen in Himachal Pradesh till February 25, while light rain and snowfall have been predicted in Uttarakhand till February 23 and north Punjab till February 22. Apart from this, changes in the weather can also be seen in Rajasthan. A rain warning has been issued in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Temperature rises in Bihar, weather changes in Jharkhand

There has been a huge increase in temperature in many districts of Bihar. Light clouds are visible in the sky. The sun is shining. Along with this, an increase in the minimum temperature has also been observed. Gradually the speed of winter is decreasing. Along with this, the sound of heat has started increasing. Due to increase in humidity, its condition will be created soon. Jharkhand has recorded a minimum temperature of 6.7 degree Celsius in the fluctuating weather. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in some areas of Jharkhand today.

Weather affected by western disturbance

According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance can reach West Hamare on 18 February. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation area is being formed over the eastern part of Bangladesh. Due to this, the weather can be affected in the capital Delhi including Punjab and Haryana.

Heat will increase in Punjab Haryana

Most places of Punjab and Haryana would see a rise in the minimum temperature today. Punjab’s Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana recorded two notches above normal. Patiala also recorded a temperature two notches above normal, which brought the minimum temperature to normal in Pathankot. Bathinda Gurdaspur has also seen an increase in the minimum temperature.

Heat will increase in many states including Maharashtra and Goa

The knock of heat has started in many states situated on the dead beach from Maharashtra Gujarat Goa. In Gujarat, including Mumbai, the temperature has reached 39 degrees, while the temperature will see a further rise. While the maximum temperature in Bhuj was recorded at 37 degree Celsius, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Goa has reached 36 degree Celsius.

Jetstream will remain in Uttarakhand today, weather will change from tomorrow

Snow melting forecast has been issued in Uttarakhand due to rising heat and jet stream. Along with this, a yellow alert was issued regarding the avalanche. Although this jet stream can be recorded till date. After this, once again the forecast of rain was issued as soon as the Western Disturbance became active. Earlier, in view of the increase in temperature in the area, an orange alert has been issued regarding avalanches.

Weather system

Talking about the weather system, a fresh Western Disturbance will be active over West Himalayas on February 18 night while a Cyclonic Circulation is over Interior Odisha. At the same time, another cyclonic circulation is lying along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, while moisture from the Bay of Bengal is moving towards central India.
