IMD Weather Update, Rainfall Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rains with Cyclone Mocha from May 8 to May 12 in many parts of the country. IMD has predicted rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 8 May.
New Delhi. The weather (Weather Update) is constantly changing in the whole country. Somewhere it is raining and somewhere there is a storm going on. In North India, where on one side the rainy season seems to be stopping, on the other side the temperature has started increasing.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday warned of heavy rains with cyclonic storms in many parts of India from May 8 to May 12. A cyclone formed in the southeast of the Bay of Bengal on Saturday, which meteorologists are seeing as the first stage of development of a possible severe cyclonic storm Mocha next week.
The Meteorological Department has warned fishermen for rough weather in the southeast Bay of Bengal with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph. The IMD has also suggested that tourism and offshore activities and shipping near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands be regulated between May 8 and 12.
IMD has predicted rain or snowfall with thunderstorm, lightning, strong winds in the western Himalayan region during the next 2 days. Along with this, there is a possibility of hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Talking about the southern part of the country, there is also a possibility of rain in many states. IMD has said that there is a possibility of rain in this region during the next 5 days. Thunderstorm, lightning accompanied by strong winds are very likely over Kerala and Mahe and Karnataka during 5 days.
During May 8, a similar situation will continue in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Heavy rain is likely over South Interior Karnataka on May 8. Moderate rains during 8-12 May with extremely heavy falls over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 10 & 11 May and very heavy falls very likely on 8, 9 & 12 May 2023.
In Gujarat too, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds. During May 8 to 9, a similar situation will prevail in Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Talking about the weather of North West India, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 8th May. Rain has also been predicted in Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, there is a possibility of westerly wind at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour from Monday with gusts from most of the districts of Bihar.
