Weather Update IMD Alert and Forecast: IMD has issued an orange alert for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and a yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. The effect of rain can be seen till Delhi-NCR.

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has said in its latest bulletin that there are chances of rain in Haryana-Punjab and Himachal Pradesh between February 26 and March 1. According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation is currently located in southern Pakistan and adjoining areas. Apart from this, western disturbance is also active in parts of North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, light to moderate rain and snowfall may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 2 to 3 days. IMD has also predicted heavy snowfall at some places.

The Meteorological Department has predicted the activation of two western disturbances. One western disturbance will be active from the night of 25 February to 26 and the other western disturbance will be active from 27 February to 1 March. During this period, drizzle and strong winds can blow along with thunderstorms. Apart from this, hailstorm is expected at one or two places. IMD has issued an orange alert for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 26 February and a yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. The effect of rain can remain till Delhi-NCR. On 27 and 28 February, this effect can further increase to some areas of western UP and Madhya Pradesh.

According to the Meteorological Department, most of the areas of Haryana are cloudy at this time. Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology, Haryana Agricultural University, said that the weather in Haryana is expected to remain generally variable till March 1. The weather of the state is expected to change due to the effect of two consecutive western disturbances.

The Meteorological Department has said that due to the partial effect of Western Disturbance, there are chances of partly cloudy weather and moderate winds in the state on 26 February, but due to the effect of the second Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of drizzle or light rain at some places with strong winds and thunder and lightning during the night of 27 February to 1 March in the state. Due to this, the temperature is likely to remain low.

The Meteorological Department has said that light rain and snowfall may occur in Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours, which will increase later. There is also a possibility of light to moderate rain and hailstorm at some places in Punjab and North Haryana between 26 February and 1 March. IMD has also predicted light rain at some places in Tamil Nadu during the next 24 hours, while the intensity of rain has been said to increase between 27 February and 2 March. Heat wave is also expected in South India, especially Kerala, Konkan, South Karnataka and South Maharashtra.
